mothers day

Every year as Mother’s Day gets close, I get a little nostalgic about the ups and downs of my journey, I’ve had plenty of both but that’s what makes me and my life what it is today.  I am grateful to now be a Grammy, Mom, wife, business owner, and up and coming Blogger, these are all pieces of my puzzle.

I am happy we have a day to celebrate and recognize the Moms in each of our lives.  My Mom was a strong woman who gave the best years of her life to fulfill her responsibilities and do the best she could with what she had to raise her family.  To me she was Mom and the most beautiful woman I know, I admired her and realize only now she had no idea how much she meant to me. We all come from so many different paths and have experienced our Moms in so many different ways, but at the end of our day she was/is most likely the foundation of our lives.   Mother’s Day also holds another special place in my own heart because of my own opportunity to Mother, although, If I had one wish I would want another ride on the merry go round to fix it up a bit, but we don’t get one, all the wishing in the world won’t change that, so wherever you are in your journey right now, fully appreciate the season you’re in  and don’t let it get away from you without doing your best, we only get one ride and it goes so fast. Motherhood is a gift.

This Mother’s day I will celebrate my Mother, it’s been 16 years since I lost her, since I’ve had the chance to be with her, to laugh with her, to tell her all the things I’m feeling inside.  There is absolutely no love in this world like the love of a mother. I would pay any price to just have one more day with her.  Mother’s day, is a strong reminder that she is no longer physically here. As I watch others celebrate with their moms, I just have to know that mine is forever deep down in my heart where she will forever stay and that she wouldn’t want me to be sad on this day, she would want me to honor her life in the best way possible. I will talk to her, she’s always listening, and just be grateful for the time I did have with her, the memories will always be mine, nothing can take that from me.

Motherhood can be difficult, it can be joyous, scary, overwhelming, but I want to encourage you, no matter what season you find yourself in, just know that you are doing enough,  you are loved and appreciated. Take time today to look around and appreciate your family and where you are in your journey. I hope you feel so loved and celebrated this Mother’s Day.

Happy Mother’s Day and never hesitate to ReDesign your Life&Home.
